Look for Less: Stackable Initial Rings.

As the classic SATC conversation goes within a circle of girlfriends I always agree that I am more of a ‘Carrie’. Mainly because I’m a writer, wear quirky clothing and attempt to be witty (luckily I have no Mr.Big in my life). Like Carrie I also have a penchant for nameplate jewelry and am currently OBSESSED with these initial stacking rings. Catbird has them in gold for $92 a piece but I found an artist on Etsy who creates similar rings for under $50 each. Spell out your initials or an acronym for a fraction of the cost and share your letters below!

Alphabet Rings – $92 (each)

Initial Stacking Rings – $45 (each)

Red + Pink Colorblocking on a Budget.

Sequins + mini skirts. Leather + chambray. Jessica + Nick {please get back together already!} Some things just go together in an inexplicable way in life and in fashion. Such is the case of the pairing of red + pink. And with color blocking hitting the runways and taking over SJP’s wardrobe, us budgetistas need to get in on the trend without causing major damage to our checkbooks. Luckily for you I found the red + pink colorblock loop hole for $34, what you choose to do with it is up to you.

A Woman’s Right to Shoes: Manolo Blahnik ‘Sedaraby’ Open Toe d’Orsay Pumps for Less.

Remember the SATC episode when Carrie’s Manolo’s were stolen at her friend’s party? If it were me I wouldn’t have left the place without them, but I think Carrie’s approach of registering for the shoes was pretty inventive. I mean why shouldn’t we receive gifts to celebrate milestones like not marrying the wrong guy? If you still can’t afford the real Manolos eight years after the episode aired, exercise your right to shoes and order the look for less at only $30.

The Reals:

Manolo Blahnik ‘Sedaraby’ Open Toe d”Orsay Pumps – $715

The Steals:

Steve Madden Jewel Pumps – $29

“The fact is, sometimes it’s really hard to walk in a single woman’s shoes. That’s why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun.”

The Look for Less: Carrie’s Clover Necklace from SATC2 for $65.

For those of you still obsessed with Carrie’s clover necklace from the SATC2 movie, I have some good news and some bad news. I like to break the bad news first: The bad news is the real clover necklace still costs $20,000 so unless you are SJP herself getting the real is still out of reach. The good news is you can now order a clover necklace that looks just like the {overpriced} original for only $65. If that news doesn’t get you through Thursday I don’t know what will.

Let me hunt down a LFL for you!

Get Carrie-d Away with Kate Spade’s Newspaper Clutch for Less.

Remember Carrie’s newspaper dress? She wore it when she stalked Natasha down at lunch in Season 2 & again in Sex and the City 2. Not many women can pull off a dress like that, but I like to think that I am one of the one’s who can. However, since I can’t afford the dress I think I’ll settle for the recycled version of it in the new Kate Spade Newspaper Clutch, which (in true Carrie style) is made of New York Journal fabric. Or get one on Etsy for almost the cost of a newspaper subscription.

Kim Kardashian’s Glamour Horseshoe Charm Necklace for $10.

I recently went on a Sex and the City marathon and watched two seasons in one night. It brought back so many good memories: Aidan (sigh), the hilariousness of Samantha and, most of all, Carrie’s fashion. Along with her name necklace, she was one of the first to make the horseshoe charm necklace popular. And while you can find inexpensive alternatives everywhere, few of them will be able to beat the price of $10 at Glamour.com, as seen in the latest issue with Kim Kardashian.

Want a look for less? Tell me about it.

The Look for Less: Carrie’s Dior Shirt & Full Skirt from SATC2 for Less.

I received a request for Carrie’s long skirt from SATC 2 but decided to cover the entire outfit for you guys. I won’t even waste my time looking for a handbag match because that thing is hideous. Unfortunately, the real skirt she wore is actually crinoline from under a couture gown that stylist Patricia Field decided to use as a skirt so you won’t have much luck tracking down the real. However, today’s your lucky day if you are willing to settle for a steal!

The Real:

The Steals:

J’Adore Dior Tshirt

Xtees – $15.99

Belle of the Ball Skirt

ModCloth – $49.99

CL by Laundry Ionia Stretch Platform Wedge

DSW – $19.94

Silly Bandz: Stylish Accessory or Silly Fad?

I never thought I would see the day when I used Sarah Jessica Parker in the same sentence as Silly Bandz, but here we are. That’s right, the fashion icon herself mixes Silly Bandz in with her couture jewelry. If you aren’t familiar with Silly Bandz, they are the latest kid craze; haute rubberbands in the shape of everything from letters and dinosaurs, to religious symbols and more. What do you think? Take a cue from SJP and mix them in with your fine jewelry, or take a cue from me and leave Silly Bandz to the kids who buy them? Leave your comments below!
